Fall 2003
- Landscape design (complete)
- Create Plot outline (partly complete, need some asphalt removed prior to completion)
- Initiate funding and materials collection (ongoing)
- Install irrigation system, drainage for roof runoff, lay asphalt path along building (PAUSD)
Winter 2003/4
- Build raised beds (parent volunteers)
- Rototill under beds (parent volunteers)
- Fill beds with soil (parent volunteers)
- Test and remediate soil, plant cover crops (students)
- Install water systems (drip, sprinkler, etc. parent volunteer)
- Plant trees in orchard and boulevard (between room 8 and portable, students)
- Plan plantings for permanent beds (students)
Spring 2004
- Plant permanent beds (students)
- Plant vegetable beds (students, ongoing)
Summer 2004
- Maintain and harvest garden (community members and neighbors)
- Water is automatic and maintained (PAUSD and parent volunteers)
Future (Fall 2004 and onward)
- Maintain and enhance the garden
- Begin developing garden sites for other barren areas on the school grounds
