Adult supervision of students at the Briones campus begins at 8:05 a.m.. Please do not leave your child unsupervised on or adjacent to campus prior to 8:05 a.m. Our school-wide start time each day is 8:15 a.m. Morning recess (grades 1-5) is held 10:00 - 10:20. Lunch and recess for first-third grade students is held 11:45-12:40 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Lunch and recess for fourth and fifth graders is held 12:00 - 12:40 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays and any other minimum days, lunch and recess for first-third grade students is 11:45-12:30. On Wednesdays and any other minimum days, lunch and recess for fourth and fifth grade students is 11:50-12:30. Kindergarten dismissal - Parents will be notified of departure times as changes occur. Dismissal time for first-fifth grades is 2:40 p.m. on Mondays,Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, first-fifth graders are dismissed at 1:30 p.m. (The early release on Wednesdays affords staff time to meet and confer with parents, students, and colleagues.) From August 21-November 3, kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. Beginning November 6, parents of kindergarten students will be notified about our extended kindergarten day and the scheduled 1:30 dismissal of kindergarten students for at least three days a week for the remainder of the year. Please be prompt in picking up your child after school. Except for fee services-based offered by Palo Alto Community Child Care on our site and occasional after-school events sponsored by the PTA or the school, there is no adult supervision of students after school. Students who remain on campus without adult supervision will be asked to leave.
